I'm Aarika, a 29 year old gal from the tiny state of Delaware. I'm wifey to a cute guy named Timothy, and mama to two darling girls, Layla and Tesla. About a year ago, I gave my sister in law a doodle I had made of her family as a birthday present. She loved it so much, I made a few more for other friends and family members. I kept getting suggestions that I start taking commissions for my doodles, and so, Aarikatures was born.
In addition to illustrating, I also enjoy taking pictures (mostly of my girls, dubbed the Webblings), making all sorts of things, decorating my home with found/thrifted/handmade decor, taking nature walks, and playing dress-up. I love thrift shopping, and occasionally even trash picking. I'm a bit of a collector (more like a hoarder). I'm a total nerd for Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, and any Joss Whedon show. I enjoy listening to folk music, especially Cat Stevens and The Grateful Dead. I'm obsessed with owls, mushrooms, feathers, arrows, anchors, incense, houseplants, vintage clothing, and anything bohemian.
